Tried out a new recipe today — Beetroot Cake. Thaïs took one look at it and said,”Uh-oh… What’s that? Stay away from it everybody!”
Grandma: That’s beetroot cake. Taste it.
Thaïs: No way!
Grandma: Why not?
Thaïs: That’s not cake… Cake is supposed to be chocolate…!
I agree….who would want to eat beetroot cake?? ewww…whoever came up with using veggies in cakes?!?
Did she taste it eventually?
That’s what I thought… But it turned out quite good. Didn’t taste like beetroot at all. Did she taste it? She ate at least 4 large slices!!

Beetroot belongs in salad sandwiches and Australian hamburgers. Not cake. It’s … it’s … unnatural. Thais has a fantastic understanding of the way the universe works. I am with both her and Tamara, it’s just wrong.
(Gotta love her philanthropy: trying to stop everyone else from eating it too).
